"Ulf" finished his AKC Championship at the 1998 Giant Schnauzer Club of America Western Regional Specialty, where he was awarded winner's dog each day shown (5 point major each day) and just like his father, during a very large entry of Giant Schnauzers.

He too went on to win multiple Best of Breeds during his conformation career, including an Award of Merit at the 1999 GSCA National Specialty. Ulf, like his father, was a confident, powerful example of the breed.

During the 1997 Working Riesenschnauzer Federation's Annual Working Trial and Conformation Show, aka "Schnauzerfest", Ulf participated in the Schutzhund/IPO training and evaluation seminar.

The trial helper challenged Ulf, testing him in defence to evaluate his potential in the sport of Schutzhund/IPO and the helper considered him very promising. Ulf would go on to sire the first Pepper Salt Giant Schnauzer to earn Schutzhund/IPO titles in the United States along with 2 daughters who also earned multiple IPO titles and certificates.
