Skansen's Ricardo Montalban was our first P/S Giant Schnauzer. In his first show handled by Brenda Nyx, "Rico" won the 1993 Giant Schnauzer Club of America National Sweepstakes, the only P/S in a very large (43) entry of black Giants.

He went on to receive Reserve Winners Dog at the same National. Rico was shown to his AKC Championship and he went on to win multiple Best of Breed and Working Group Placements during his career, while competing against the more popular Black variety of the breed.

In the show ring he was a confident, powerful example of the breed, at home he was a serious dog who took on the role of gaurdian and protector.
